| On track, Brawllen Angel is a formidable blocker and pivot for the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls. In her fourth season captaining the team, Brawllen says that putting in work with her teammates is the most rewarding element of derby. “There is this moment when we are on the track together and we are executing perfectly what we had practiced and it feels magical. I play derby to share those moments with my teammates.”
As a coach, she loves to break down skills for others and she says that watching a skater improve over the course of her classes is the best feeling. |

| Evil K’neevil is known for her speed, her impressive leaps, and her incredible heart. One of the loveliest people off the track, her on-track skills have made her a staple not only for the Dead End Derby All-Stars, but also in the last two Team New Zealand World Cup squads.
This notorious point scorer is also a fantastic coach, who doesn’t hesitate to share her knowledge with leagues around New Zealand. |

| When not running Antik Skateboots, Quadzilla likes to skate. A lot. He travels around the world for any skating opportunity, and is a world class jammer for Puget Sound Outcasts.
Quad states that the most rewarding elements of derby are “seeing skaters that I once coached or trained excelling in the sport and also seeing them now coaching and training the next generation of skaters.” |

| On the track, Scald Eagle has made a name for herself as a powerful, dynamic jammer. But off the track, she values the relationships that derby creates, above anything else. When asked about the most rewarding aspects of derby, she said “Winning is nice, but means are as important to ends to me. All of the struggle and hard work are far more fulfilling with others to share the experience with”.
As a coach and a player, Scald Eagle’s power lies in her confidence. She believes that only through training and understanding can you have confidence in your success. | For Stefanie Mainey, the most rewarding parts of derby are learning the best way to use her body for maximum effect on track, and coaching. She states that she coaches because “I love teaching new skills and introducing new concepts to skaters”. This London Rollergirl understands that every skater isn’t built the same and not everyone picks up the same elements from her classes. Tui Lyon is an offensive an defensive force on the track. Known for her track awareness, and soul wrenching jammer takedowns, she says that the best moment in derby is when your hard work is paying off. “I love that feeling when your muscle memory just kicks in an it all starts to happen automatically.
Tui not only represented her league VRDL as they brought home the 2015 WFTDA Championship 3rd placing, she also skated for a very impressive Team Australia in the 2014 World Cup. |

| RawShark is one of Australasia’s premier referees. As a Level 3 Certified WFTDA ref, and Head Ref for Sun State Roller Girls, he is on the forefront of roller derby development. He says he loves the sport because of the combination of incredible athletic ability and tactical prowess that skaters bring to the track.
As for reffing, he states “Refereeing is challenging, and ever changing. Rules change, strategy changes, officiating practices change. Officials need to learn to be adaptable in order to enable skaters to play the game”. |
